    Hubbard Inducted into Indiana High School Tennis Hall of Fame

    Dora Hubbard, long time resident of Gary, will be inducted into the Indiana High School Tennis Hall of Fame during a dinner ceremony on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. She has been known as the face of tennis in Gary because of her role in creating a network of youth development programs in northwestern Indiana. Several of these programs were paired with literacy programs in local elementary schools.

    Mrs. Hubbard has been a longtime participant on Midwest/USTA committees and she has served as the Northern Indiana Tennis Association’s president. Finally, she has been the boys’ tennis and girls’ tennis coach at Gary Wirt High School and currently serves as coach at Gary West High School.

    The induction will be held at the Holiday Inn Indianapolis North hotel, which is located at 251 E. Pennsylvania Parkway off of the Meridian Street exit on I-465. Other Inductees are players Sara Jane Stevenson and Margo Stevenson from Evansville; player David Held from Indianapolis North Central,  and Mark Reilly, a coach from Jeffersonville. Keynote speaker will be former French Open Doubles champion Luke Jensen.

    Tickets for the dinner and induction ceremony are $30 per person.
