The Northern Indiana Tennis Association is a non-profit corporation which is the governing body of tennis in Northern Indiana. The Northern Indiana area includes the counties of Adams, Allen, Benton, Blackford, Caroll, Cass, DeKalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Howard, Huntington, Jasper, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, LaGrange, Lake, Marshall, Miami, Newton, Noble, Porter, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley in addition to Niles Michigan Zip Code 49120. NIN is one of the 13 districts of the Midwest Tennis Association, which in turn is the governing body of tennis in an area comprised of the states of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, most of Illinois, and part of West Virginia and Kentucky. The Midwest is one of the seventeen sections of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), which in turn is the governing body of tennis in this country.

USTA/Midwest Section Junior Player to Compete in Wheelchair Tennis’ Premier International Team Competition

Krystal Kelley, a 17 year old from Grand Haven, Mich., has been selected to represent the United States at the 2013 BNP Paribas World Team Cup. Kelley is one of three players on the Junior Team and she and her teammates will join the nation’s other top wheelchair tennis players to compete against teams from more than 50 countries next week, May 20-26, on the clay courts of Club Ali Bey Manavgat on the Turkish Riviera in Antalya, Turkey. Nine CTAs Selected for 2013 US Open USTA President's Box Community Tennis Fundraising Initiative

As a way to link the US Open to community tennis development efforts, USTA President Dave Haggerty awarded nine pairs of tickets to the President’s Suite at the US Open to the USTA/Midwest Section. The tickets were awarded to nine different registered CTAs and NJTL programs within the USTA/Midwest Section as a fundraising opportunity. Each organization selected is coordinating a fundraiser between March 28 and July 14, 2013 to determine the recipients of their tickets. Read More
 

Whiting Parks Honor Mary Lou Piatek Daniels

The Whiting Parks Department added five brand new courts to their new Sports Recreation Complex. On April 27, 2013 a special ceremony was held to unveil the new parks department sign naming the courts after Mary Lou Piatek Daniels who was born in Whiting, IN and graduated from Whiting High School where she played on the boys high school team (No girls team at that time.).
